What is justice?
When people get what they deserve.
Traditions~going to my aunt's and uncles's house on Christmas.

~Eating turkey on Thanksgiving, and going by grandmas.
 The community/town in this short story.
The town was a very little town and seemed to be “old fashioned”. Everyone in the town was segregated.
What happened to Mrs. Hutchinson? Why?
Mrs. Hutchinson was stoned to death because she won the lottery. There was no reason given to why this happend. Mrs. Hutchinson comes to the ralization that it's not fair, because at last, she was being the one stoned.
Questions:Why do they do the lottery?
Who started the tradition?
Why is the lottery so messed up?

Why do Tessy's kids throw rocks at her and not think it's wrong.

Do you believe we process information to fast? What is your view on technological advancements?
I do not think we process information to fast, i think we apply the information to fast and dont realize what we're doing. It makes life easier but because we do that we become lazy and end up doing things wrong.
Plot: ~Walked out of sight of the village and waited for a sign from the Gods on a rock, ~Went east following a white fawn, Through the forest and past the forest people, ~Walked the god roads and came to the banks of the great river,~ crossed the river to the Place of the Gods, ~Went north in the Place of the Gods, went into the great temple in the middle of the city,~ north toward dead houses, ~went inside a dead house, ~entered a dead room, slept in front of the fire, ~When back to his home in the hills.
Questions:

What year is this?
what is the dead house?
Who are the gods?
why are these people so un-advanced?

Pre-reading In the year 2026, things will be very advanced. Technology will be more advanced and we're gonna have a lot more cooler and high-tech things.

Plot/Reaction

7:00 – time to get up

7:45 – breakfast time
8:05 – off to school, off to work
9:15 – time to clean 

10:00 – the sun come out from behind the rain

10:15 – the garden sprinklers whirled up

12:oo noon –  a dog whined, shivering on the front porch

2:00 – the regiments of mice hummed out 

2:15 – the dog was gone

2:35 – bridge tables sprouted from patio walls

4:00 – the tables folded

4:30 the nursery walls glowed, animals took shape

5:00 – the bath filled with clear hot water

6,7,8:oo – the dinner dished manipulated

9:00 –  the beds warmed their hidden circuits

9:05 – “which poem would you like this evening?”

10:00 – the house began to die

Plot/Reaction
The yellow sheet of paper was full of facts, quotations and figures that he needed for work. Tom retrieves the paper by climbing out of the window, onto the side of the building.

Questions
1. Why did he work instead of going to the movies with his wife?
2. Why didn't he care about the paper the second time it flew out of the window?

He thought of all the evenings he had spent away from her, working; and he regretted them. He thought wonderingly of his fierce ambition and the direction his life had taken; he thought of the hours he'd spent by himself, filling in the yellow sheet that had brought him out here.Contents of the dead man's pockets, he thought with sudden fierce anger, a wasted life.

Claim:
The society Harrison Bergeron lives in is not at all equal.

Quote:
" Diana Moon Glampers loaded the gun again. She aimed it at the musicians and told them they had ten seconds to get their handicaps on."

Commentary:
The society was definitely not  equal at all because Diana, the Handicapper General, had a loaded gun and no handicap like the rest of the people that need one. It takes knowledge to be able to load a gun and aim it correctly. She has more power then the rest of the people.

Claim: The society Harrison Bergeron lives in is not at all equal.

Quote: Hazel, as a matter of fact, bore a strong resemblance to the handicapper general, a woman named Diana Moon Glampers.

Commentary: the society is not as equal as the people make it out to be. Diana is higher than the other people, just because she's the general Diana has no handicaps at all, shes the one that gives them to the other people. she threatens people who take them off. But they wanted them all to be the same then they would have given them all of the same handicaps.

My short summary:

Tom was addicted to his work all of his life and neglected his wife because of it. he lost his yellow sheet of paper because it blew out of the window. he thought it was necessary to go retrieve the piece of paper, so he climbed a building and risked his life. He was hanging on the building scared for life. He had to smash a window to get back into the house. the experience made him realize that his wife was more important. so he went to find her and he only weighed the piece of paper down with a pencil and it blew away again.

-Did Clare ever find out that tom went on the journey to get the paper back?

-why was his work so important to him?

-Why did he want to get the paper back so bad?

-Where they rich because he worked so hard?
